Welcome to Nos-Lug the Linux User Group for the North of Scotland. This site is being set up for those of you who (like us) have an interest in Linux and / or Open Source Software and would like to share their interests with other like minded people in the North of Scotland.

Many other parts of the UK have their own user groups but activity up in these parts seems to be lacking with the closest LUG being Dundee and Aberdeen and the most active being further south in Glasgow and Edinburgh. We wish to remedy that situation.

This site is not just yet another LUG we’re trying to set up here, what we are trying to do is to get more LUG activity going closer to home in the Highland and Moray area. We want this site to be used as a portal for other small LUGs currently running or starting up in the North so that all linux users in this area can get the benefit of interacting with a user group and users near home. We want this site to be used to promote, encourage participation in and help grow newly started lugs and bring them together in one place.

This site is in it’s infancy and needs as many members and support as possible please join us by entering posts in the forums, joining our mailing list and contacting us about current lugs running near by or ones starting up. If you are running or starting a lug in the highlands and islands or Moray area please let us know.

Help get this site noticed by adding links where ever possible and downloading our poster to place anywhere it can be seen by potential members who use Linux.
And spread the word to others.
